Title: Conger Alley 19/07/07
Description: Conger Alley night dive 19th July 2007. John, Tom and myself when in and explored the top reef before losing Tom and then finding him again, Completely missed the reef on our return and John nearly ran straight into a metre diameter lions mane jellyfish. While I was busy setting up a shot of a hermit crab a butterfish swam in and sat on it's left, I managed a single photo before it shot off. I then returned to photograph the hermit.

Title: A-Frames, 15/07/07
Description: First dive buddied with Tom (not Tom "best dive ever" Bates) and in with group including Danny (leading), Paul and Kenny. Danny took us down to the first "A-Frame" which stood in 18m of water (the limit of the other divers). A-Frame is made up of concrete posts and some metalwork. What remains of this frame is still standing vertical and is teeming with anemones of various species and the legs of brittle-star starfish interlaced around them. Around the frame and back towards the entry point where the rubble of shallower A-Frames has come to rest. Perfect man-made reef with holes under the big concrete beams dug out by crabs and lobsters. Hermits and velvet swimming crabs a-plenty here with a good few starfish too. BBQ during surface interval with our expert chef Mohammed (fantastic at cooking on the barbecue). Second dive was just Paul and I. We went in for a shallow dive and a bimble about. Took a brief visit to the bottom of the reef at 12m and worked our way up and across. Loads to see including a butterfish and a large edible crab neatly tucked in a hole dug under a concrete beam. Some rooting around the seaweed may have uncovered further life but would have reduced the visibility which was at best 4-5m. Took 102 photos between the two dives and surface shots together with two short videos (need more practice in that division). Really helps to take a lot of photos as ones which you think have turned out often haven't.

Title: Twin Wrecks, 12/07/07
Description: Twin Wrecks (aka Five Wrecks), Gaerlochhead. 12/07/07 First dive with my new camera (Fuji F31fd with Fuji underwater housing). Visibility was 3-4m except were silty bottom was disturbed. Didn't find the wrecks but there was a fair amount of small life to be found.

Title: Conger Alley 01/07/07
Description: Two dives helping Donny with his OW students. Camera set up properly this time to use the strobe, though some silly sod forgot to charge the camera's batteries (hence the number of photos). I might need a diffuser on the strobe to take the edge off some of these.

Title: Conger Alley 28/06/07
Description: Not a bad dive, visibility was poor to start with but quickly found the first reef. Down to 20m and followed along reef until vis improved at far end. Slowly worked our way up scouring the rocks and boulders for signs of congers. 3 or 4 Ballin Wrasse were flitting about but were mostly camera shy. Talking about cameras, I had a SeaLife SL960 Strobe to add to my SeaLife DC310 though getting the two to play nice was hit and miss. A whole lot of scatter is what I have to show for all but a few of the photos, still I'll be rigging up a fibre optic link and blocking up the built-in flash. Hopefully that should do the trick.

Title: Pool Dive, 25/06/07
Description: Nothing terribly exciting about a pool dive but I wanted to take some photos for the upcoming club website. Batteries ran out (forgot to change them from the day before) so limited number of photos, also despite the good vis some photos turned out quite dark (woo-hoo, strobe on the way), I'll touch them up in photoshop at a later date (don't hold your breath).
