Twin Piers, 24/06/07
Title: Twin Piers, 24/06/07

Description: Two dives, helping Donny with students at the start and then off into the depths with Debbie for a little look around. Debbie found some lovely little pipefish, each about 10cm long. Definetly need a macro lens for taking these photos. Second dive Debbie managed to find the wreck. Met some fellow CongerAlley.com members and later discovered they had taken a fantastic video clip of a conger out for a swim... www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPJ8YTWRvSM

Conger Alley, 21/06/07
Title: Conger Alley, 21/06/07

Description: Nice Thursday night dive. Diving with Brian, we went down to bottom of the first reef at about 19m and vis bellow us looked terrible (very dark, could hardly see anything below us). So we just took our time and explored the top reef. Immediately found a very camera friendly Plaice/flatfish, I spent the dive trying to take photos without my flash, just using the torch light in a bid to reduce scatter but these photos were blurry from motion blur. I couldn't keep the camera still for long enough to get a decent shot. The photos here were taken with the flash (camera has a nasty habit of turning the flash back on itself). Despite this it was a very enjoyable dive, even managed to surface right beside the entry point.

Title: The Caves, 14/06/07

Description: Not a great dive, moved off the wall and couldn't find our way back. Controlled ascent in open water without DSMB (wasn't easy or fun).

Five Wrecks 07/06/07
Title: Five Wrecks 07/06/07

Description: Wreck dive in Gaerlochhead, overlooking Faslane Naval Base. Fantastic dive, entered water and found concrete block (mooring point?) and followed line to wreck. The wreck was covered in anenomes, fields of them on the deck and many more on the broken mast which was lying off to the starboard stern. One trip around the wreck and back to the line. Halfway along the line we bump into a Languistine which disappears into it's hole. Back to the block and drift a bit as we check our contents guages, we turn to head towards shore only to discover we are faced with the hull of another wreck. Stopped on the deck at the bow for our 6m safety stop. From the boat we took a quick glance around it before heading back to shore. I took over 50 photos on this one dive, just kept snapping away. Going on the premise that you usually get one good photo for every 50 I was happily supprised to see that a good number of these turned out reasonably well. This site isn't renowned for it's visibility and this was my first dive here so I was happily supprised by just how clear it was in places.
